Abundant Light – the Stained Glass Windows of Bruce Porter

I’m happy to have contributed some photos to the article “Abundant Light – the Stained Glass Windows of Bruce Porter” by Oakland leaded-glass artist Ted Ellison in the Fall edition of “American Bungalow” magazine. Ted has written a very nice article on a then-influential and now almost forgotten member of the Bay Area Fin de Siecle cultural scene.

Porter’s St. Christopher window in the San Francisco Swedenborgian Church may be the artist’s most creative work. The composition shows a complete break with traditional stained glass window design.
